Our Team
Meet the passionate professionals behind Holistic Strength! A team committed to delivering personalised care through expertise, empathy, and collaboration.

Vian Botma
Managing Director & Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Hi, I'm Vian. I’ve always had a strong passion for health, sport, and helping others. After graduating as an Exercise Physiologist in Perth in 2011, I’ve worked with a wide range of people, from those recovering from injury, to those living with chronic conditions or disabilities. My early work with sporting teams helped me appreciate the connection between physical and mental wellbeing, which ultimately led me to create Holistic Strength.
Holistic Strength was founded on the belief that healthcare should treat the whole person, not just their symptoms. Our approach considers all aspects of health, including exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress, and more. I’m proud to see the business grow into a multidisciplinary team delivering truly person-centred care.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with family and friends, going to the gym, and watching sport.

Elizabeth Jones
Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Hi, I’m Liz. I manage services in Perth’s northern suburbs as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with Holistic Strength. My background as a competitive acrobatic gymnast and coach in both the UK and Australia sparked my early interest in injury prevention and movement education. After retiring from gymnastics due to a chronic hip condition, I redirected my passion toward Exercise Physiology.
I graduated from Edith Cowan University in 2021 and completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy to complement my skill set. My clinical interests include neurological and neuromuscular conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, oncology, and both men’s and women’s health. I love bringing creativity and fun into exercise programs to help people reach their goals and improve independence.
In my spare time, you’ll find me crafting, reading, staying active—or hanging out with my dwarf rabbit, Neo.

Jaydn Simkin
Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Hi, I’m Jaydn. I am originally from a small town in country WA called Northampton, where my sense of community, helping others, and love of sport originate from, and has equipped me with the passion for being an Exercise Physiologist.
I have previous experience with musculoskeletal injuries, and assisting all individuals with starting their exercise journey to achieve their goals and setting up for long-term success! I truly believe both physical and mental well-being are closely linked in life, and I strive to create a fun and supportive environment during exercise as a result.
In my spare time, I keep up with all things sport such as cricket, AFL and basketball, as well as visiting family and friends!

Andrew Haynes
Accredited Exercise Physiologist & Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Hi, I’m Andrew. Originally from Wales, my long passion for health and fitness led to the start of my journey in exercise sciences in 2005.
I have a BSc (Hons) in Exercise Science and MSc in Exercise and Nutrition Science from universities in Liverpool and Chester respectively. I received a prestigious International Research Scholarship to conduct my PhD at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Exercise Physiology and Biochemistry between 2013-2017. I have worked as a teaching and research academic in Exercise Physiology at UWA since 2017. In this role, I lead clinical trials aimed at improving our understanding and ability to optimise human health through exercise and behaviour change; whilst educating the next generation of exercise scientists. I regularly publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals and mentor PhD students.
In 2023, I completed my second Master’s degree (Clinical Exercise Physiology) to gain Australian accreditation. I began working at Holistic Strength in 2025, to help people achieve their physical- and health-related goals through individually tailored exercise. I enjoy seeing people reap the physical and psychological benefits of exercise and improve their quality of life.
I am married, have two children and a dog. Outside of work, I enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle, movies, music and playing the guitar.

Nahla Channaoui

Having a deep-rooted passion for health and fitness, Nahla is also a former semi-professional soccer player. Her experience in sport gives her a unique perspective on the physical and mental demands of rehabilitation. She is a strong advocate for the collaborative approach between Exercise Physiologists and other allied health professionals, knowing that a holistic, multi-disciplinary strategy is key to optimising patient care.

Kiya Alimoradian
Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and Team Leader
Hi, I’m Kiya – a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and Team Leader at Holistic Strength. I also lecture in Speech Pathology at Edith Cowan University’s School of Health and Medical Sciences.
Growing up bilingual in Western Australia, I developed a fascination with language and how people communicate. This passion led me to study Linguistics before completing a Master of Speech Pathology in Sydney. My career has taken me across Australia, including memorable work in remote Northern Territory communities, before returning home to Perth.
I have a strong interest in multilingualism, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), speech and voice, and I’m experienced in dysphagia management and Mealtime Management training. Outside of work, you’ll find me bushwalking, gardening, doing yoga, or relaxing with my cat and dog.

Sara Cappelletti

Hi, I’m Sara. I’m an Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting people to achieve their goals through meaningful and purposeful activities. My career has spanned aged care, disability services, and behaviour support, giving me a broad understanding of client needs and the value of strong therapeutic relationships.
Prior to joining Holistic Strength, I worked for over three years as a behaviour consultant. This experience deepened my knowledge of restrictive practices and strengthened my ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and support teams.
Outside of work, I enjoy crafting, riverside walks, and catching up with friends over coffee or wine. I’m also a dedicated follower of Aussie comedy—and a proud (if sometimes heartbroken) Richmond Tigers fan.

Marja Roodt

Marja graduated in South Africa in 2006 and has worked across several industries, including life insurance, reinsurance, and private practice, where she conducted medico-legal and Functional Capacity Assessments. She also holds a post-graduate diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation.

Marja values human connection and draws on diverse experiences to support individuals with empathy and understanding.
Now based in Perth, she enjoys family camping trips, cycling, playing piano, and cooking up new recipes.
